UMANG stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance. It is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
It is a platform where citizens can avail of various government services electronically. The services can be derived via different media such as web, app, SMS and IVR.
How do I access it?
It is available as a website - https://web.umang.gov.in/
It is available as an app on Android, Windows and iOS platform.
Users can register on UMANG using their mobile number and MPIN or Aadhaar number and OTP.
For IVR and SMS services, you need not register but directly avail the services.
Once registered, you can login with mobile number or Aadhaar number.
What are the services available on UMANG?
EPFO – You can visit the EPFO service part and view your passbook, check status of claims, raise claims for withdrawal and partial withdrawal.
My PAN – You can apply for PAN, change PAN details, track PAN status and make payments online.
Passport Seva – It provides services related to passport application and delivery.
NPS – You can check current holdings, recent contributions and account details. You can get transaction statements and also request for change of address. request for an e-mail transaction statement, check account details, change address, and also keep track of recent contributions made.
Digisevak – You can view and apply for freelance jobs in government organizations.
Gas connection – You can book a cylinder, request second cylinder connection, pay online, get subsidy information and see usage history.
Epathshala – Students can access E-Books, audio and video files. Teachers can access E-Books. teaching aides, audio clips and video clips. Parents can access E-Books, curricular resources, learning results and audio and video files.
